The Civil Process Orientation Webinar gives you an in-depth study of a civil process server's responsibilities. You'll learn proper service techniques through a focus on civil procedure, document recognition, proper service, proper return, and the Process Server Code of Conduct.

This 8-hour live online course introduces new process servers to the core knowledge legal support professionals use every day.

 

What you'll learn

• Introduction to Civil Process (2 hrs): the role of the process server, the courts, and Texas rules
• Process (1 hr): types of process and how to recognize each document
• Proper Service Techniques & Fundamentals (2 hrs): lawful methods of service and what to do in the field
• Proper Return of Service (2 hrs): completing returns correctly so they hold up in court

 

How to become a Texas process server

1. Take this orientation course and receive your certificate of completion.
2. Apply to the Texas Judicial Branch Certification Commission (JBCC) for process server certification.
3. Get certified and start serving. Renew every 2 years with 8 hours of continuing education, including 2 hours of ethics.

Anyone who wants to become a certified civil process server in Texas. The JBCC sets the certification requirements, and we'll walk you through them in class.

What happens after I pay?
You'll receive your Zoom link and class materials by email before class.

What if I can't make my date?
Payments are non-refundable, but you can reschedule to a later class date. Just call or email us before your class.

Is this course JBCC-approved?
Yes. Texas School of Legal Support is a JBCC-approved civil process training provider.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. You'll receive a certificate of completion after class.
